A 160 sqm Altbau apartment with high ceilings was transformed into a vibrant and comfortable home for a young family with three children, where historic character meets a playful, contemporary way of living.
The design approach focused on creating a family-oriented environment that feels both generous and intimate — a space that embraces daily life, movement, and moments of togetherness. Original features were carefully preserved and highlighted, with wall colors chosen to accentuate the existing ornamentation while introducing a fresh, modern atmosphere.
The layout encourages connection, with a central dining table acting as the heart of the home — a place for gathering, sharing, and everyday rituals. Around it, a variety of seating areas offer flexibility, from a relaxed TV corner with a deep, comfortable sofa to more informal spots for play and rest. Artworks and custom-made elements, including bespoke lighting pieces, add personality and a sense of discovery throughout the space. The result is a home that balances elegance with playfulness, designed to grow with the family and support their evolving rhythms.
